Creep

by RevulsA

Founded in 2011 in Warren, Michigan, RevulsA is an American indie band formed by award-winning classically trained vocalist Ashley Faye and songwriting partner and guitarist Joe Kupski.

As well, with electric energy, vibrant compositions, soulful vocals and a genre-bending music catalog spanning nearly a decade, RevulsA has been winning over audiences and listeners since their debut EP 2012’s Like The Real Girls. In 2018, the band recorded and released their debut full-length album, Somnolence & Dissonance, which included the singles “Dancing in the Dark”, “Digital Fine”, “Hierarchy” and “Pleasure Island”, each of which was an indie and Played significantly over internet radio. The new drummer Ethan May joined the band in 2019, after that RevulsA began recording sessions for their upcoming follow-up LP to S&D. In 2021, RevulsA released the band’s second full-length album, Creep. The album’s lead singles “Joshua” (also featuring the music’s first official music video) and “Creep” helped make Creep Revulza’s best-selling release to date.

Creep by “RevulsA” is another fantastic track for all alternative rock lovers around the world. The vibe, melody, lyrics and soundscape will hit you hard when you start listening to the track and as an audience, you will all fall in love with this song within a second.

From the first few notes of a never-ending synth track that propels the song into a distinct sense of its own time and space, “Creep” transports the listener to a place that feels futuristic and mystical, yet somehow grounded in our reality. Everyone knows this sense of reality is thanks to the samples used by “RevulsA”, which have a very powerful sound to them.

As vocally complex and technical as the beat is simple and catchy, “RevulsA” has a true passion for music and life which is amazing. It has space, adds impact to what follows, and then the rhythm and energy of it all begins to rise and rise, leaning boldly toward the final few moments of volume and passion. This is where the rock sound really comes from – the distortion, the raw shock, the fury. The song is extraordinary for all these reasons and more. It is definitely a character and the performances make for a very memorable experience.

There’s actually a rhythmic break towards the end of the track, at which point you’ll realize how blown away you’ve been. It briefly feels empty and you eagerly anticipate a return or ‘down’ to the previous frenzy.
